RESTON, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Verodin, the Security Instrumentation leader in continuous validation and configuration assurance, today announced it has been named a winner in the annual SINET 16 innovation competition. As part of their objective to promote executive level collaboration and invigorate private-public partnerships, the Security Innovation Network (SINET) selected the 2017 winners from a pool of over 130 applicants from nine different countries. Chief Systems Architect, Greg Kruck, will present Verodin’s award-winning Security Instrumentation Platform (SIP) to attendees at the SINET Showcase in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 9. All companies presenting will have a chance to secure a capital investment of up to $100,000 from SixThirty CYBER, a business development venture fund.
“Congratulations to Verodin for being selected as a SINET 16 Innovator,” said Robert D. Rodriguez, Chairman of SINET. “Every year the competition continues to be more competitive than previous years and we are excited to announce that Verodin will have an opportunity to present on stage at the SINET Showcase. SINET believes that one of the best ways to advance innovation is to increase awareness that technologies exist to better society.”
“We are honored to be selected as one of the 16 most innovative companies of 2017 by SINET,” said Christopher Key, CEO and Co-founder of Verodin. “It’s clear that organizations are demanding more from their security investments and they need a platform that proves the effectiveness of the time and money being spent. Security instrumentation enables CISOs and security teams to continuously challenge and validate their defenses and ensure full value is being realized from their security controls.”
The Verodin SIP is a foundational technology that enables organizations to understand and communicate cybersecurity effectiveness with quantifiable, evidence-based data. By demonstrating the impact of modern threats and malicious activities within the context of the production environment, the Verodin SIP proves the effectiveness of existing investments, proactively identifies configuration issues in a security stack and exposes true gaps across a company’s people, process, and technology. This approach empowers organizations with the hard metrics needed to drive priorities and rationalize business decisions around security.
“Our platform empowers companies with an unprecedented ability to holistically assess security effectiveness, and ultimately prove that products, teams, and processes work as hoped or expected,” added Kruck. “Determining the most and least effective tools in an environment, reducing complexity and empirically understanding where the gaps are is an urgent part of evolving to a place where we base security decisions on facts, not assumptions. I look forward to presenting Verodin to a packed house at next month’s SINET Showcase.”
The SINET 16 innovators are evaluated by the SINET Steering Committee, made up of over 100 cybersecurity professionals and experts from academia and the public and private sectors. Each contender was ranked based on their product’s ability to solve significant, real-world cybersecurity challenges, as well as their uniqueness and what advantages they offer over other solutions. The two-step judging process also considered the company’s ability to succeed based on the state of their capital and leadership.
